Marge was born on April 12, 1940, in Binghamton, New York to William and Frances Smith. She met and married Robert James Geide Sr. on December 17, 1960, in Binghamton, New York. She always had a strong passion for helping people. She worked as a certified nursing assistant in Binghamton, New York. She moved with her family to Visalia, California in 1972.
After raising her family, she rekindled her passion for helping people. This time she modeled young minds at the Visalia YMCA day care center. She later completed her Licensed Vocational nursing degree in 1998. She continued her nursing career at Exeter Memorial Hospital, finishing at Kaweah Delta healthcare District. She retired after 15 years of proudly serving her patients and hospitals.
Marge had a strong sense of family togetherness. The many trips to Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Knotts Berry Farm, and Santa Monica beaches are where fond memories were made. She never missed school events for her children. The swim meets, soccer games, football, and choir concerts were all things that she encouraged and looked forward to. Marge was always young at heart. Later in life, her love of traveling continued with concerts. Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi, Motley Crew and Kiss were just some of her favorites. Her adventurous spirit inspired many trips to Las Vegas, watching the ball drop in New York, and the continued trips to Santa Monica and Los Angeles were memorable.
She was a wonderful mother and friend who was always there when we needed her. She truly loved each of us dearly and she will be missed immeasurably. Marge continues to live within the minds of her loved ones through the memory of her kind and humorous spirit.
Marge is survived by her son Robbie Geide and fiancé Kimberly Wallace of Rhode Island; daughter Brenda Geide of Visalia, California; grandchildren, Kira Hyer (Dana) of North Pitcher, New York; Kandis Geide and fiancé Chace Benedict of Visalia, California; Kristopher Geide of Visalia, California; Raegan Cox of Rhode Island; great-grandchildren Garrette and Isabella Hyer; beloved pets Lacey, Jax, and Jill.
