Leola Sonn Pascale December 5, 1929--December 31, 2021

Lee Pascale died peacefully on Friday morning, December 31, 2021 after a short illness. Lee was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph, to whom she was married for 65 years. She was born in Port Chester, NY, and for a time lived in Manhattan at the legendary London Terrace apartments. She also recalled having a season pass to the 1939 World’s Fair. Lee attended Larson College and worked for 40 years as a medical and legal secretary.

She is survived by three children, Deborah (Lillian Rojas) of Branford, CT, Mark (Susan Matthews) of Chicago, IL, and Laura (Peter Galeno) of Somerville, MA, along with a grandson Arthur Pascale of Chicago, IL.

Lee’s experience living in a variety of locations throughout her life made her independent, social, and an easy and dedicated friend. She enjoyed talking with everyone, making new friends wherever she went, and also cherishing lifelong peer relationships from her youth.

Lee’s creative skills included mastering several crafts. She was an accomplished seamstress, making both clothing and quilts.

Over their 65 years of marriage, Lee and Joe enjoyed many interests, including camping, music, and entertaining. They camped at first with a pop-up trailer; they later spent their summers in a camping condominium in Otis, MA. Their experiences as a camping family broadened their geographic experience of the Northeast, and they often enjoyed summer camping vacations as part of a caravan, which enhanced socializing for the entire family. Lee and Joe so enjoyed music that they spent many summers as ushers and gate attendants at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA, near their summer home in Otis.

When Lee and Joe retired in 1989 they moved from Connecticut to Jupiter, Florida, and after 11 years, moved to Hobe Sound, Florida. They had a rich social life and enjoyed many cruises and trips. They were members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Stuart, Florida, where Joe did bookkeeping and they were both involved in many church activities. Lee moved to Youville House in Cambridge, MA in 2017 and loved being near her daughter Laura and son-in-law Peter Galeno.

Lee loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. If you would like to make a donation in Lee’s name, please consider donating to a no-kill animal shelter.
