Obituary of Donald L Noettl
Donald L. Noettl age 90 of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Southfield, MI was called to his heavenly home on November 19, 2022. Donald was preceded in death by his wife Margaret and brothers Henry (Hank) and John. He is survived by his four children Don (Marilyn) Noettl, Mike (Patricia) Noettl, Jim (Cindy) Noettl, Julie (Ron) Curcio. He was proud “Opa” to his eight grandchildren, Briana, Keri, Mike, Zach, Maggie, Katie, Leah and Paige and great grandfather to Olivia and Caleb. Don studied Electrical Engineering at Washington University, Missouri. After graduation he served in the United States Army. Through the years, his military service and career in Sales for Wagner Brakes & Lighting required him to frequently move the family. A majority of years were spent residing in the Midwest – St. Louis, Chicago and eventually the Detroit area before retiring in Arizona during the mid-90’s. A favorite place for Don, Marge and the kids had always been Up North Michigan at Arcadia where they enjoyed a vacation home and activities in the company of the Lutheran Camp community. He enjoyed playing golf, socializing, scenic road trips, nature, birds, music, comedy, cars, understanding the engineering behind things he was curious about and repairing anything mechanical. Don was a devoted Christian who knew his life and soul belonged to Jesus. There was no doubt he believed that this humble and modest life with its challenges was temporary and would one day be replaced with the glory of eternal comfort, peace and rest in the presence of his Creator. This same faith both he and Marge demonstrated together is the same faith they imparted on our family for which we remain strong and forever grateful. Private interment of ashes will take place at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer columbarium in Birmingham, MI. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Noettl family.
