OBITUARY
Carl Lester Waterhouse Jr.
October 1, 1930 – January 30, 2023

Carl Lester Waterhouse Jr. passed away on January 30, 2023. He was born on October 1, 1930 to Carl and Mabel (Fish) Waterhouse in Cambridge Springs, PA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Frances Thomas, Marjorie Batuski, and Anita Merritt, and by brother Clifford Waterhouse. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Toshiko Waterhouse (Sug), and several nieces and nephews. Carl was career Air Force. Among others, he was stationed in Japan, Korea, Libya, Langley Air Force Base, and The Pentagon. Part of his service took him across the ocean on a Naval Vessel. He noted he spent almost more time that year on a ship than on an Air Force Base.
Carl spent most of his Air Force Career in Radio Communications. He earned credentials in Radio Frequency Management Support, Communications Security, and Radio Operations Senior Grade. His overseas duty included the Army of Occupation (Japan) and earned the Korea Service Medal with four Bronze Stars. He also earned a Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon while stationed at Keesler Air Force Base. He retired from the Air Force at the rank of Senior Master Sargent, with over 23 years of service. He was dedicated to continuing his service with the military. He drove over 60 miles each way to work for a contractor at Ft. Huachuca for many years. He then worked for defense contractors in Tucson for several more years. A special thanks to Arizona Assisted Living who cared for Carl for the last two years.
