Joshua Allen Claxton

Passed away on September 22, 2022
Joshua Claxton, age 31, of Phoenix, AZ passed away surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer on September 22, 2022. He graduated from Lake Havasu High School with Honors. He then attended ASU Barrett Honors College in Tempe, AZ where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He did his internship with DriveTime which led to his distinguished career as a Senior Software Architect. His peers and colleagues became family to him. He was very passionate about the Intern Mentoring Program. So much so, that DriveTime created an annual scholarship in his honor called the “Josh Claxton Heart Award." He was an amazing husband, son, brother, friend, and mentor. He is survived by his best friend and wife Danielle Harry, parents Ranee and Richard Claxton of Lake Havasu City, AZ, sister Stephanie (Nolan) Robertson of Lake Havasu City, AZ, his bonus family; parents-in-law, Diane and Robb Harry of Lake Havasu City, AZ, sister-in-law Shelbi Harry (Katie West) of Tempe, AZ, his loving pets Rorschach, Link, Finn, and Murphy. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many wonderful friends. Josh enjoyed traveling, unique foods, and new experiences. He was also a cat enthusiast whose hobbies included wood burning, playing video games, and Lego building. Josh will be remembered for his unique and comforting personality. He believed everyone should be accepted and loved for who they are. He was a champion of what is right and would go above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcomed and loved. One could easily walk away from a conversation with Josh knowing a little bit more about themselves. He would often share stories, jokes, and puns with anyone who would listen. His smile, his grin, and his laughter will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 2nd from 2:00-5:30 at San Tan Brewing in downtown Chandler, AZ in their Brewer's Reserve room. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sarcoma Cancer Research Center at: https://www.curesarcoma.org/donate/
