Sandra Leigh Rogers
March 14, 1955 – May 17, 2022
Sandra “Sandy” Leigh Olson Rogers, 67 of Crawfordville, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side May 17, 2022 after an extended illness. Born in Orlando, Florida on March 14, 1955 Sandy grew up in Jacksonville and moved to the Tallahassee area as a teenager, graduating from Amos P. Godby High School in 1973. She worked for several years as an electrician and worked at various State agencies, (Department of Children and Families, Agency for Health Care Administration, Department of Corrections), over the course of her career in public service, retiring from the Florida Department of State in 2014. A member of Authentic Life Church, Sandy loved the Lord and her greatest desire was to meet her heavenly father and that all may come to a saving faith in Him. Sandy enjoyed the beach and had varied interests over the course of her life. She liked to fish, went hunting, rode motorcycles and even attended the Tallahassee Citizens Fire Academy. Sandy loved her family and made all she came in contact with feel welcome. Her sweet smile and loving spirit will be greatly missed. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Katherine Olson, and husband James M. Rogers, Jr. Survivors include her brother, Ed Olson (Michelle) of Sarasota, Florida; sister, Marilyn Eichen (Karl) of New Haven, Indiana; daughter Jessica Andrews and grandchildren Noah, Kayleigh and Abigail, and son Jimmy Rogers, all of Crawfordville. The family would like to thank Big Bend Hospice and St. James Health and Rehabilitation for the care they have extended during this time. The Neptune Society in Tallahassee is in charge of arrangements and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
