Richard “Dick” Summers passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023 from natural causes. He was born in Meridian, Idaho on June 25, 1935 to Paul and Lona (Frost) Summers. Along with his two sisters Charlotte and Pauline, Dick spent his youth in the High Valley area of Idaho where his parents worked as ranch hands on various cattle ranches and in lumber mills. He attended a one room schoolhouse until middle school then returned to Meridian with his family and graduated from Meridian High School in 1953 where he’d met Ida Burns who he married in January 1954. He drove long haul truck briefly before accepting a position with the Boeing Co. He and Ida then moved from Meridian to the Seattle area in January of 1955 where they raised three children before divorcing in 1978. While at Boeing Dick met and married Marge Stuth in 1979. He retired after 39 years with Boeing in 1994 at the age of 58. He and Marge resided in a lovely home on the Lake Wilderness Golf Course in Maple Valley, WA where they enjoyed their favorite pastimes of golf and gardening. Dick was the LWGC league treasurer for several years. Dick is survived by his sister, Pauline Peterson; three children, Lee Summers (Gail) of Clinton WA, Doug Summers of Seattle, Brenda Bowen of Florence, AZ; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Summers Rhodes, Meghan Murphy, Taylor Summers, James Summers, Brittnie Summers, Ashton Summers, Kevin Bowen, Kenny Bowen and eleven great-grandchildren.
