Obituary of Philip David Goldberg
Philip passed away peacefully with his wife Patricia by his side. He was born in Revere, Massachusetts on April 5, 1936 to Ann and Charles Goldberg. His family then moved to Miami, Florida when Philip was 13 years old. He worked for the US Postal Service becoming a Postal Supervisor for many years and retired in 1986. Living in Cape Coral, Florida he met his wife, Patricia, and they married May 4, 1991. Together they loved to travel in their early years but mostly he prided himself on being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and attending his postal reunions. He was active in the church, giving to charities and participating in activities with his men’s group. Growing up a Boston Red Sox fan and then coming to be an avid fan of the Florida Gators, he enjoyed a good game. He held season tickets, travelled to many National Championship games for football, and to a Final Four for Basketball. Having his family come tailgating for any event was a highlight of the season. In the last few years, he could be found on his porch, enjoying a good cigar. Philip is survived by wife Patricia of 32 years, son Stuart Goldberg (Alisa), son Steven Goldberg (Lynn), stepdaughter Janell DeBonte (Neil), grandson Aaron Goldberg, granddaughter Kiera Johnson, granddaughter Rachel Johnson and sister Marilyn Finkle. Philip is preceded by his parents Ann & Charles Goldberg, brother Leon Goldberg, sister Leatrice Liberman and his previous wife Anita Goldberg.
