Carolyn Mae Hawley

On March 13, 2023, our mom joined our dad and their granddaughter in the kingdom of heaven. Carolyn was born on April 6th 1940, to Grayson and Helen Herman in Sterling, Colorado. After graduating from Sterling High School in 1958, she attended and graduated from Greeley College in 1962 and began her music teaching career. Her first job was in Mountain Home, Idaho where she met the love of her life, Bill, on a blind date. After loaning Bill $10 for gambling, she bet the rest of her life on him. The couple were married in 1964 and moved to Spokane and started a family. They were married for 51 years, traveled the world and raised three children. Mom devoted a considerable amount of time to supporting her grandchildren and their various activities. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and granddaughter Sophie. She is survived by her children Kristi (Jeff) Dobson, Doug (Deanna) Hawley and Chad (Gina) Hawley She is also survived by her grandchildren Emily, Madison, Mackenzie, Scott, Cole, and Aimee. Memorial service will be held April 15th at 4pm at Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sophie Hawley memorial scholarship through the West Valley Educational Foundation.
