Obituary of Albert Smith White
Albert Smith White, age 85, passed away on September 17, 2022 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The son of the late Julius and Alberta White, he was born on January 14, 1937 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Albert served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He, was honorably discharged in 1968. Shortly after leaving the military, Albert began his automotive career with Chrysler Corporation, where he remained employed for over 30 years. He was a devoted employee, promoting Chrysler vehicles to anyone he met and proudly displaying his years of service pin on his lapel long after retiring. Albert was also an active member of Faith Community Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served as an usher, warmly welcoming worshippers as they arrived for service. The family would like to thank Pastor Terry of Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Rochester Hills for visiting and blessing Albert during his time in Hospice. Albert was preceded in death by his wife Barbara his daughter Robby Hunnicutt; his brother, Harold White; brother-in-law, Frank Stafford and his nephew, Frank Stafford Jr. Surviving are his daughter Ricki Gomez (Luis), his son Eugene “Buddy” White, his sister Ruth Wilkins-Smith, and his sister-in-law Dolores Stafford. He was also Grandpa to eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Uncle Al to many nieces and nephews, cousin Al to relatives across the country, and a friend to many others. The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Ascension Providence Rochester. Especially, the staff of 6 South who took wonderful care of Albert during his final days in Hospice. Albert and Barbara White will be interred at, The Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on October 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
