Obituary of Camille Dianne Carreon
With her loving family at her side, Camille Dianne Carreon passed away on November 16, 2022 at age 53 after an eight-month battle with cancer. Cammie is predeceased by her parents, Joan and Darvin Baker; her nephew, Zack Carreon; and her sister, Cheryl Benson. Cammie is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 31 years, John Carreon; the lights of her life, Troy, Megan, and Caitlin; her siblings, Patti Strietzel, Kevin Baker, Mike Baker, and Gary Baker; her niece, Christie Lira; and her nephews, Joshua Benson, Christopher Benson, Matthew Strietzel, David Strietzel, and Peter Carreon. Cammie was born February 5, 1969 in Grangeville, Idaho and spent her childhood in Alaska where she later graduated from Palmer High School. She met her life love, John, in Anchorage and after falling in love, they moved to San Antonio and married in 1991. Together they excitedly purchased and built their family home in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. Cammie went on to work as an office manager for neurologist, Dr. Delaney and then became a co-manager for Water Resources Company in San Antonio. Cammie devoted her life to helping others by teaching and inspiring the youth at Spring Creek United Methodist Church. Cammie’s exuberant spirit touched the lives of many, with a reach farther than she’ll ever know. The pure essence of joy, her light continues to shine in the hearts of everyone she has touched. Her contagious smile, genuine kindness, silly sense of humor, and dancing in the rain personality are immensely missed. Celebrate Cammie’s life with us on November 29th from 6-9 p.m. at Spring Creek United Methodist Church, 9200 Dietz Elkhorn Rd. We invite you to arrive and leave anytime during her Celebration of Life. A short service will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the remainder of the time will be open to sharing thoughts and memories of Cammie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Hope Foundation by mailing a check to "Hospice Partners of America 3021 Lorna Road, Birmingham, AL 35222" or venmo @megantc44 and the total collection will be donated to celebrate Cammie. Donations will also be accepted during the service.
