OBITUARY
Wayne Allen Bloomquist
May 3, 1940 – May 18, 2023

Wayne A. Bloomquist, 83, West Valley City, Utah, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, surrounded by his loving family and loyal dog Marcus, following a prolonged illness.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susan (Kurt) Urses and Pamela (Robert) Stoker, and his son, Clayton (Melanie) Bloomquist; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his brother, Michael Bloomquist, and sisters, Geneal Davies and Janet Blonquist; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Wayne was so very proud of his children and all they accomplished.
Wayne owned a dental lab and continued working until very recently. He loved making things and was always good with his hands. At the age of 80, he turned his hobby of model plane building into a thriving Etsy business and became well-known for building authentic-looking military planes. Throughout his life, he perfected the art of tying the perfect fly and kept his friends and family well-stocked with fishing flies, always wanting to know what worked and where.
The ultimate sportsman, Wayne hunted and fished whenever and wherever he could. He was a skilled falconer and had many of his own birds over the years. His gun collection was enviable. Wayne loved spending time at Wasatch Wings, where he enjoyed trap shooting with his good friends Scott, Ron, and Max. He proudly displayed several 25, 50, 75, 100, and 200 straight patches that he won from various clubs and matches over the years.
Wayne was always willing to share his knowledge and friendship with all who knew him and he will be missed very much. The family will host a celebration of Wayne’s life in South Jordan to be announced at a later date.
