Robert Eugene Burkart

Robert E. Burkart Robert E. Burkart of Harwood Heights passed away on May 16, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born on January 20, 1947, in Chicago where he grew up with his sister Wendy. He graduated from Gordon Tech High School in 1965. He worked as a Police Officer with multiple law Enforcement agencies, until he started with the Chicago Police Department in 1977. He retired as a Detective in 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents Sophie J Burkart and Eugene J Burkart. He is survived by his dedicated wife Shirley Burkart (Avalos) and his loving son Michael R Burkart and daughter-in-law Michelle L Burkart. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Mia and Mason Burkart, his sister Wendy Briar, brother-in-law John Briar, nieces Jennifer and Jaclyn Briar and cousins Jim and Anita Groholski. The family would like to thank Rainbow Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Bob in his final days.
