Erin J. Mahoney

Erin Jean Mahoney passed peacefully to eternal life Wednesday, January 25, 2023, surrounded by siblings in Resurrection hospital, Chicago. Born October 11, 1945, to Philip and Eleanor Mahoney, her parents preceded her in death as did four of her six brothers: Philip Jr. (Kay), Denis (Kathleen), Michael (Mary), and Gerard. Erin’s brothers, John (Gayle) and Brian (Kathryn); her sisters Lucy (Bill) Brennan, Kieran (Joe) Lyons, Maureen Mahoney (Brad Stenson), and Sheila (Tom) Campbell will keep her memory alive, along with several wonderful nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. Erin spent 57 years of her life in California and is mourned by many close friends there who meant so much to her. Erin was a free spirit, traveler, adventurer, and independent woman. She worked hard, played hard, loved to dance, laugh, and read. Spending time on the Russian River, at the Pacific Ocean and walking in Armstrong Woods were some of her favorite things to do. She lived life to its fullest. Her family and friends will tell the stories and cherish her always. She loved them all. Erin is California Dreamin’ now. Her sisters will “take her home” in the Spring and celebrate her life with her dear friends in The Golden State.
