Obituary of Diana Rose Childers
Diana Rose (Protz) Childers, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Cary, Illinois on November 12, 2022. She was born December 17, 1958, in Albany, Georgia to Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force, John A. Protz and Jennifer S. (Smith) Protz. Diana grew up in Romeoville, Illinois and moved to Crystal Lake, Illinois. She then moved to Cary, Illinois 5 years ago. Diana Rose (Protz) Childers was preceded in death by her father Master Sergeant John A. Protz, her mother Jennifer S. (Smith) Protz, best friend Charlotte Mowrer, and family friend Colton G. Steiner that passed way too soon. She is survived by her two sisters and one brother. Diana was the youngest of four siblings: Mary (Protz) Hardisty, Barbara Protz, and John A. Protz Jr. She is also survived by her three loving children: Jonathan R. Childers, Amber R. Childers, and Holly D. (Childers) Marion. Diana’s step son Timothy Bussiere, Diana’s eight grandchildren: Erin M. Childers, Karma R. Childers, Jonathan M. Childers, Michael J. Childers, Roxi Bussiere, Cody Bussiere, Nathan D. Palmer-Childers, and Dylan J. Palmer-Childers, and great grandson Greyson L. Palmer-Childers. First and foremost, Diana was a dedicated mother. She provided strength for her children and embraced every moment with them. Her honesty and encouragement are known amongst her family and friends. She had a creative personality and bright sense of humor. Diana loved to make crafts, crochet, knitting, and turning old things into new creations. She loved to collect knickknacks, shoes, and purses. Diana was a master cook in the kitchen. She always made plenty of food, so everyone went home full. Diana adored spending time with loved ones. She loved chatting with her sister, Mary. She loved shopping and conversing with her two daughters, Amber and Holly. She loved getting dressed up and going out with her friends. But she especially loved her role as Grandma and “GG” to Erin, Nathan, Roxi Dylan,Cody, Karma, Jonathan, Michael and Greyson. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Her life and impact will be carried through our fond memories
