Obituary of Kennett Muir Holthouser
Kennett Muir Holthouser Sr. (Ken) of Dania Beach, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 17th at the age of 84. He was born on November 2, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from University of Kentucky in 1960 with a Bachelor’s in Business and was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He proudly served his country in the Army after college. Ken had a long career with Brown-Forman in sales and marketing and retired as the Regional Sales Manager for the state of Texas. He then became an independent financial sales executive representing various companies including American Heritage and Allstate Financial. He was fond of most sports, the outdoors, animals and cherished the many years of boating in Texas (Lake Texoma) and Kentucky (Ohio River). Ken’s favorite teams included the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid horse racing fan and celebrated the Kentucky Derby every year by making his version of a Mint Julep. He was outgoing and enjoyed meeting and conversing with new people especially when riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In his later years, he could be found reading a suspenseful book or watching tennis or golf. He was a member of Little Flower Parish in Hollywood, Florida. Ken is preceded in death by his beloved son Kennett Muir Holthouser Jr. (Kenny) and his siblings Jean Hopkins and Donna Adams. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Ann, loving daughter Kristina (Kristi) Holthouser, granddaughters Emma Holthouser and Kate Holthouser, numerous cousins, nieces, nephew, and Casey (dog). The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. Ken will be cremated with no funeral ceremony per his request.
