Passed away on August 30, 2020
Somerset, NJ-Kathleen Breitmeyer, 76, of Somerset, New Jersey, passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia on August 30, 2020 with her family by her side in her “happy place” in Avalon, New Jersey.
It would be wrong to say that Kathleen lost her battle to cancer because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was determined to live every day to its fullest. When anyone else would have broken, Kathleen stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Kathleen’s unyielding love for her family and her indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the illness. She is survived by her husband, William Breitmeyer, her two daughters, Laura Olsen and Kathleen Mascaro-Sukley, and their loving husbands, Gordon Olsen and Matthew Sukley. She is also survived by the light of her life, her grandson, Nicolas Mascaro, and her sisters, Ann Stevens and Eileen Cavanaugh. Kathleen devoted her entire life to her family as a loving and patient mother, grandmother, sister and wife. As an avid beach lover, she spent the best days of her life surrounded by family and friends in Southern California; Port St. Lucie, Florida; and Avalon, New Jersey.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 10:30am at The Church of Saint Monica, in Berwyn, PA followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make donations in support of Acute Myeloid Leukemia research.

Kathy, you did not know me that long, but you and I met because of your dear husband Bill. He and I have known one another for close to thirty years, and I have always called him my "Philadelphia Grandfather" because of how close we became when he was working at HUP. I am so happy to have met you. You and Bill have spent many wonderful years together. I am so sorry to hear that you have been taken from us in this way. Cancer is such an awful disease, no matter what form it is. Love from South Jersey. Lauren Silvestro.
