Richard William Ireson

Richard (‘Dickie’) W. Ireson 76, of Largo, Florida (formerly of Methuen, MA), sadly passed away January 27, 2023 at East Bay Rehab Center in Largo FL. He was born March 31,1947 in Lowell, MA. He was the son of the late Irene Thibault and William Ireson. He was happily married to his wife Priscilla Brown-Ireson for 43 years. He attended Franco-American Grammar School in Lowell MA, and was a student at Lawrence High School, class of 1963. He graduated from SNHU in 1979 with an Associate Degree in Business. He retired from his position as Warehouse Manager at Office Depot in 2010 where he worked for many years. Dickie was an incredibly proud Navy Veteran honorably discharged in 1965. He served as a jet mechanic on US Naval Aircraft carriers the Ranger and the Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. He loved sharing his many navy stories with family and friends. He coached Little League in Methuen for many years. He was an encouraging mentor and always praised his teams’ efforts. He was an avid golfer and loved his many trips to Myrtle Beach with his coworkers. He also loved fishing. He was a member of the Elks and Rocky Club in Lawrence where he played hockey, baseball, and softball for them back in the ‘70s. His sense of humor was second to none and always kept everyone laughing. He is survived by his wife Priscilla, son Jeffrey Ireson (wife Shannon), daughter Kathryn Levasseur (husband Jimi), daughter Sandra Sadewicz (husband Jeff), son Richie Ireson (wife Lisa) his grandchildren Cameron, Gracie, Jack, Thomas, Jeffrey, Kristina, Brian, Dennis and Jared. He is also survived by his devoted sister Arline Moynihan (husband Dave), his brother Paul Ireson (wife Joan) and predeceased by his younger brother Frank Ireson. He also had many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held in Methuen, MA in the Spring. Date to be announced.
