Vernie F Wait

Vernie F. Wait, 81; passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at his home in LaVista, Nebraska. Vern was born in Springfield, Nebraska. He proudly served in the US Army. Vern lived most of his life in Bennington, Nebraska. He also lived in California and many years in Missouri. Vern loved farming, fishing, woodcarving, and model trains. Vern retired after 20 years at 3M. He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was loved and admired by all of his family. He was survived by his son James, daughter-in-law Carol, 8 step-children, 26 Grandchildren, and 40 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernie and Martha Wait; his wife Marianne of 48 years; and sister Joanne Huey. CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be MONDAY February 6, 2023 - 1:00pm at The Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints- 11027 Martha St. Omaha, NE 68144. Vern will be Interned at The Omaha National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vernie’s memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans, www.DAV.org.
