William Edward Romanowski

William Romanowski, age 91, died peacefully in his sleep on March 5, 2023 in Granbury, Texas. William is survived by his son Michael Romanowski and wife Maurene, of Granbury; Tx; his daughter Susan Scheetz and husband Jim, of Zionsville, Pa; his son William Romanowski and wife Julie of Oakland, Ca; and his daughter Patricia Young and husband Dave MacConnell of Marlborough, Ct. He has 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren He is preceded in death by his wife Donna, son Joseph, brother James and wife Phyllis, brother Richard and wife Janet and his Sister in Law Joyce and husband Bud. William was born on November 19,1931 in Jacksonville Ohio, to parents Ben and Rosella. After graduating high school he served in the army for 2 years during the Korean War. He graduated from Ohio University in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1962, he moved to Connecticut and accepted a position at United Technologies where he worked for more than 30 years on the space program. William was a great family man and a loving father. He married the love of his life Donna in December of 1955 and the couple had 5 children together. William was a social, active man who enjoyed hunting and fishing and everything outdoors for the majority of his life. He enjoyed being with friends and family and was a brilliant joke and story teller. His family and friends will always remember him as a very kind and generous person. A funeral mass is scheduled for June 17, 2023 in Mentor, Ohio, with a reception to follow at nephew Donald Schutz’s home in Mentor. All are welcome to attend and celebrate William’s life._
