Nelda Joyce Spence

Nelda Joyce Spence, 82, of Keller, Texas, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023. Nelda was born to John F Thomas and Mary Etta Thomas March 27, 1940, in Athens, Texas. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1956 and was Valedictorian of her class. She married Phillip Wayne Spence on February 16, 1957 and they lived together in Keller, Texas. Together they raised three children. She leaves as her legacy three children, Sherry Dane and husband Charlie, Randy Spence and wife Tami, John Spence and wife Jonese. Her children remember her as a smart, go-getter, who loved to go to her children’s sporting events and support them however they needed. She loved the Sooners, books, and taking photos. She was honest, giving, hardworking and a wonderful wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Thomas; husband, Phillip Spence and sister, Carol Harrison. A private family memorial will be on 3-26-2023.
