Martha Elizabeth Ray

Martha Elizabeth Bohanan Ray, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, after a long illness. Martha was born in Brownsville, Texas to Clarence Watson Bohanan and Grace Margaret Bohanan on May 14, 1940. Martha graduated from Adamson High Scholl in Dallas, Texas in 1958. After high school, Martha completed both her Bachelor of Science (1962) and Master of Education (1965) degrees at East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. Martha went on to pursue a lifelong career as a teacher in the Lake Worth ISD. Martha had many interests including overseas travel, reading, and loving her furry children. Martha enjoyed her retirement years living in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering for the Kids in Need of Clothing Inc. organization. She was also a member of the Women’s Club of Grand Prairie. She loved to play games with her many friends at Mountain Creek retirement Living. Martha was one of eight children in the Bohanan family. She is survived by her brothers, Jim Bohanan, David Bohanan and wife Sandy, sister-in-laws Jean and Julia; additionally she is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
