OBITUARY
Annie Bell Thornton
June 5, 1932 – May 20, 2023

Surrounded by love, Annie Bell Thornton passed away on May 20, 2023, after an unexpected illness in Fort Worth, Texas. She was generous and loyal; a protective mother, loving and thoughtful wife, encouraging grandmother.
Annie Bell Barr Thornton was born in Wylam, Alabama, on June 5, 1932. She was the daughter of Alexander Wilson Barr and Ruth Baker Barr. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dillard Stewart Thornton, and their son David Stewart Thornton, sisters Ellen Barr Guy and Mary Ruth Barr, a brother, James Baker Barr, and her parents.
She retired from the city of Fort Worth Fire Department.
She will be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Survivors include sister Dorothy Harris of Southside, AL; daughters Kellen Diamanti (Mike) of Coupeville, WA, and Kathy Holton (Larry) of Aledo, TX; sons Scott Thornton (Laura) of Fort Worth and Bruce Thornton (Cheryl) of Rowlett, TX; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Thornton (David), of Bedford, TX; five grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
