Obituary of Walter C. Ronalds
Walter (Bud) Ronalds (81) passed away on September 18, 2022 and entered final rest with his Lord and Savior. Born on April 17, 1941 in Pen Argyl at Dr. Brumbaugh’s hospital. Son of Clifford and Emilia (Carpenter) Ronalds. Graduated from Pen Argyl High School class of 1959. Lived in Wind Gap for 45 years. Served his country in the United States Air Force 730th Air Force Band. Bud was employed by Met-Ed for 28 years. Bud played with various musical groups in the Pocono Mountains as well as in Bethlehem and Pen Argyl American Legion Bands and various Drum and Bugle Corps in the area. He served Wind Gap as a full-time Police Officer, Fire Chief, Wind Gap Councilman, Zoning Hearing Board and Pen Argyl School Board member representing Wind Gap. While living in North Fort Myers, Florida he served Lee County Emergency Operations Center using his FCC Amateur Radio License as a communicator during emergencies in the County. Bud is a 50 year member of Pen Argyl Lodge F.&A.M. 594; A.A.S.R. Valley of Allentown 32 degree; Araba Shriners of Fort Myers, FL; American Legion of Bethlehem, PA; active member of Le-Hampton Lodge #035 FOP; Life member of the Keystone Fire Chiefs Association; member of the Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club; member of the ARRL Association. He served Grace UMC of Cape Coral in the traditional Sanctuary Choir. Bud is survived by his loving wife Kathryne (Keat) Ronalds; brother Clifford “Kip” Ronalds and his wife Leslie; twin sons Kevin Ronalds and Keith Ronalds, and Keith’s domestic partner Kim Polak; stepchildren William Hilyard and Anne Hilyard Goetz and her husband Phil Goetz; grandchildren Beth Balch and her husband Taylor Balch, and Nick Ronalds, Jessica Ronalds and Molly Ronalds; step grandchildren Jackson and Kent Hilyard; great grandchildren, and what a joy, Jocelyn and Elijah Ronalds, and, Beckett and Casen Balch; nieces Kelly and Joyce Miller; and great nieces Brianna and Jenna Miller. Predeceased by a brother John Scott Ronalds and sister Joanne Louise Miller. Memorial services will be held on October 5, 2022 at Hope United Church of Christ, 701 Cherry Street, Wind Gap, PA 18091 from 4 PM to 5 PM, with calling hours at 3 PM.
