Obituary of Laura Parker Goss
Laura Parker Goss May 10, 1954 – Jan. 16, 2023 Laura was born on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1954 to Robert W. and Helen “Sally” Parker in Missoula MT. She attended Lewis and Clark Elementary, Sentinel High School and the University of Montana, where she earned a liberal arts degree in 1978. She married Will Goss in 1980. They lived in Kalispell MT, Missoula, Spokane WA and Sammamish WA. Laura initially stayed home with her two sons and gave piano lessons. She later worked for Symetra Financial until she retired in 2019. After she and Will amicably parted ways, she moved to the Providence Point community in Issaquah WA. She expertly decorated her condo with a mix of treasured family heirlooms and beautiful things she found at craft fairs, yard sales and thrift stores. She was a master craftsman who worked magic with beads, fabric, paper and yarn. The more complicated a project, the better. She was satisfied with nothing short of perfection. She attended her 50th high school reunion in Missoula this past July, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in September and died at home Jan. 16 in the embrace of family. She was 68. Laura is survived by son Jacob of Poulsbo WA, son Brian of Seattle, sister Julie Huntington (Gene) of Helena MT, brother Rand (Genovieve) of Litchfield Park AZ, and six nieces and nephews.
