Fraser, the manager to this great group of Seattle rugby. When I came up for my first visit, you greeted me like I had never left and you had known me during my time in Seattle. Your positive energy will be missed. I am truly blessed having met you. Rest in Peace my Horsemen brother. 

My rugby heart is broken. I had the immense pleasure and opportunity to meet Fraser with my friend Aretha Laggard when he visited Saracens in August 2017 with Steve and I invited him to a Saracens Supporters Association evening in London. I will always remember his infectious smile, kindness, and passion for Global rugby! Been almost a week since we all got the sad and shocking news that Fraser was gone, and still impossible to find just the right words. We worked together in the boat biz, starting just a day or two apart. I reminded him until the day I retired that I had seniority. He would laugh. Every time. Because he was just that way. I shared my boat building experiences with him, and he shared his passion for his family, rugby…and Canada…with me.  He also became a passionate Gonzaga basketball fan with me every March. With Lake headed to the Navy, we also shared military Dad pride. Fraser was one of the good guys. I will really, really miss him. Love and prayers to the family, from the O’Connell’s.

When we found the local rugby community and knocked on the door, Fraser was the one who answered. He invited a couple of middle-aged rugby newbies inside, made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We are forever grateful for that and honored that we became friends. 

We volunteered at SRC matches at Starfire. Fraser would get us set up, and then run off to the next thing. Good natured, taking everything that popped up in stride with a smile. It was such a positive experience for us.

It was always our pleasure to see Fraser, have a chat. When updating us on Lake’s Navy diver training, he would light up, his love and pride shining through. Carissa, we are thinking of you all.

Sad to hear the news of Fraser’s passing and my heart goes out to his family. Reading all of these tributes makes me sad that I hadn’t seen him much or at all in the past 30 years. 

This picture is how I remember Fraser, full of laughs and fun. This was taken on a family ski trip where we had our first taste of independence and took off on our own. Unfortunately, we took a path through the forest and after 25 minutes ended up at some condos. We had no money, there were no cell phones, and we were at least an hour’s walk back to the closest lift. Fortunately, an older man convinced the shuttle driver that we were his sons so we got a drive back to the mountain. 

I’m sad that he moved out West and we lost touch. Didn’t really know Fraser the man but 13 year old Fraser was a great guy who loved to laugh and have a good time. Rest in peace buddy.

What a kind, generous and warm man Fraser was. His passion for rugby and willingness to go the extra mile and support the whole Seattle Saracens team was so important in setting a culture that made an impact on all our lives. This is devastating news and sending love to all who was touched by Fraser. Thanks mate,

I worked with Carissa at FBC when she met Fraser. She was absolutely giddy, over-the-moon in love right away. It was ridiculously sweet.  She knew she had found her guy. A group of us met up to do some Halloween bowling sometime after and in they come dressed as a Bee Keeper and his Little Bee.  I remember thinking "really, you guys?", do you have to be this damn cute all of the time?  They always made the rest of us look like amateurs. 

Equipped with an earpiece and walkie, Fraser was one of the first people to be seen as you entered the Starfire's Rugby pitch. Right next to the gate, welcoming players, volunteers and families. 

I remember him handing me his field access pass as we returned to Starfire post pandemic. "No exchange, no returns", he joked. I'll miss you, brother.

See you on the other side, Fraser. I am sure you'd be one of the first ones greeting me out there when I arrive. 

Fraser will truly be missed. He always had a happy birthday to me each year, and I’ll never forget him talking up a storm all night in Vegas, keeping us awake so I wouldn’t miss my plane at 4:45 am with zero sleep!    💔 

I went to school with Fraser and will remember him as quiet, kind, and with a fun sense of humour. He was inclusive and easy to talk to. It was so nice to see his beautiful family grow, and I send my condolences and love to them. 

What a warm, welcoming, kind, and giving man. Frasier gave so much to so many of us in the Seattle Rugby community. His smile and calm, playful nature will be sorely missed.

Please accept my heart felt condolences on the passing of Fraser.  He was the best co-worker someone could have. He was always willing to help out on a task or to share a joke.  When we talked about our kids his pride in his family always shined through.  Sail on my friend, you will be sorely missed.

One of the first people to truly welcome me to the Seattle rugby club family. I can't imagine the club without you around.  I was crushed to hear the news of your passing. Thank you for being an amazing person and friend. You really are the epitome of a club person who always showed rugby values everywhere that you went. My heart hurts knowing that you won't be around to influence the next round of club newcomers. Rest in peace 💚💙

I’m in shock. Thank you for being my friend. And for all of the work that you put into SRFC. You will be hugely missed.

As kids I never really knew you due to our ages and distance but I'm so glad that after you married Carissa that I got to know you as an adult. I'm so sorry that we didn't have more time to know each other but I got to know that you were an amazing man in the time we had. Rest easy Fraser. Forever my little cousin.

Fraser, I will forever and ever remember getting to know you through Carissa. All of the weekends at seattle rugby, curling, nights in the Irish bar and dress up for rugby is a drag. It is because of you I learned to love rugby and have introduced my kids to it. I will think of you everytime they're on the field. You will be deeply missed. Until we meet again, go Canada 🍁

Fraser was the first person I talked to at a Seattle Rugby training. It was at a sand field in West Seattle. He was no longer playing.

He went to almost every game I played in, most of which were in Canada, helping us and encouraging us. 

This picture is how I remember him. A true ultimate friend, passionate, fill of life and absolutely hilarious. You'll be missed, cheers to a great man and wonderful friend. 

We have lost a great warrior, in the passing of Fraser Brumwell - the raging king of the Horsemen Rugby Club. He was a character, with an infectious personality - a true leader in every way.

I will never forget my first encounter with Fraser. Here I was, a rookie searching for a rugby club to call home, and Fraser was one of the first to show me the way. His welcoming nature made me feel right at home at the Seattle Rugby club in 2009 (then OPSB). I won’t forget the jokes we shared, or the memorable Horsemen jacket he wore to Marymoor Park 7s.

The rugby world has lost a true legend. May Fraser rest in rugby paradise until we meet again
