Obituary of Joseph John Stuckenborg III
Joseph John Stuckenborg III, age 75, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 after a brief illness. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Ann Bailey Stuckenborg; their twin daughters, Susan Whitlock (Sue Cope) and Sara Stuckenborg (Stephanie Goebel); grandchildren, Christian Stuckenborg, Preston Whitlock, and Katelynn Whitlock. Joe served our Country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and fought with the 1st Cavalry in Vietnam. After his tour of duty, he returned home to Louisville and became a tool and die maker for the Logan Company. When they shut down, Joe changed his career and became an inspector for Caleb Brett, surveying and gauging shore tanks and barges on the Ohio River. That position led him to the Terminal Pipeline Company in New Albany, Indiana, where he loaded chemical products from barges and shore tanks and trucks. He retired as a groundskeeper at Mallard Crossing Apartments. Joe also played ice hockey for the Louisville Blades. It was during that time when he met Ann at the Kentucky State Fair. They were married in November 1972. Joe loved to cook and enjoyed painting gourds and concrete statues. He was Catholic by faith but requested no mass or service. His cremains will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Please consider a memorial gift in his honor to your favorite veteran's or animal care organization. His arrangements have been entrusted to The Neptune Society. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Stuckenborg family.
