Glenn Robert Walters, 71, of Louisville, passed away on October 26, 2020. He was a Vietnam War combat veteran, serving two tours of duty, who retired after a 20-year career in the military, serving both in the Marine Corps and the Navy. Glenn was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, chapter 454, and he served on the Veterans Club’s SMVF Committee. A passionate man, he enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was also an avid Vikings Fan! He was predeceased by his parents, Lauren B. and Edna Rask Walters; 6 siblings, Kenneth Walters, Richard Walters, Carol Phipps, Lil Phipps, Alyce Webber, and Joey Walters. He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Raatz Walters; daughters, Christina Walters Lockard (Darrell), Jenn Raatz Foster (Daniel); grandchildren, Timmy Martin, Darrell Lee Lockard II, Alex Fanning, Justin Uhlig, Grady Foster, and Audrey Foster; siblings, Shirley Niemeyer, Betty Heschke, Mary Jane Mellinger, and Gary Walters; and also his faithful service dog, Forest, whom Glenn loved dearly. Due to Covid, the celebration of life will not take place at this time. Glenn will be interned at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on November 16, 2020 at 1:30 pm. The family would appreciate expressions of sympathy and support for funeral expenses to go to the family of Glenn Walters.
