Sargon A. Odishoo, age 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born on July 17, 1924 in Baghdad, Iraq as one of five boys and made his way to Chicago as a young man. He attended DePaul University and the Chicago School of Optometry. He and his wife, Wilma had three children and lived in the Chicago suburbs for many years. During those years he was one of the foundering Members of the Assyrian American Civic Club of Chicago. His identity as an Assyrian was paramount in his life. He was also an avid tennis player and fan.

Sargon spent his later years living in Las Vegas, enjoying slot machines and jacuzzis. He was beloved by most everyone who met him and thought of as a kind and fun loving man. He is survived by his wife Wilma, his daughter Arbella (David) Parrot, sons Ashur and Ninus Odishoo, and grandchildren Andrew and Liam.

Condolences to the Odishoo family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you right now. Sargon was a good husband and father, and by all accounts from son-in-law, David, a kind and gentle man. We know Sargon meant a lot to David . He will be missed greatly.

Uncle Sargon was a kind and gentle soul
He was a great uncle , he made me laugh so many times and always brought a smile to my face .
While he was visiting us in Yonkers , he took the time to teach me how to drive a car - his kindness was beyond measure . A life well lived. ..God Bless
