Obituary of Cornelius Andres Smyth
Cornelius Andres Smyth "Andy" was a gentle soul that left us on September 18, 2022, at the age of 40 after battling cancer for the past five years. Andy was born to Cornelius Edmonston Smyth Jr. and Celia Adele Smyth on February 11, 1982, and was raised in Henderson all his life. After graduating from Green Valley High School in 2000, Andy worked in the construction trade before being employed at NEDCO Supply for seven years where he was treated like family and gained an extensive network of friends and colleagues. Andy loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for his family and friends. He never showed up to an occasion empty-handed and would be the last person to leave a party. One of Andy's favorite places to visit was Coronado, California where he spent summers with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Andy loved football and baseball. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Diego Padres. He taught himself how to play the electric guitar and filled his home with sound and laughter while shining his incredible smile. This remarkable person is survived by too many to list. Andy was a beloved son, protective brother, caring friend, and loving family member. If he made you feel important, it's because you were important to him. If Andy responded to you via text with only the word "ok" or an emoji thumbs up, spent an extended stay on your living room couch, whisked off to visit you in California, got beers with you on a Friday after work, joined you at the Bingo Hall, or ate breakfast with you on a weekend morning, then he loved you. A service to honor the life of Andy is scheduled for 2 pm on November 26, 2022 (Saturday), at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123. It will be followed by a reception hosted by his uncle, Robert Smyth, at his residence.
