Edward August Legnon Sr.

Edward A. Legnon, Sr. of St. Bernard passed away on January 29, 2023 at the age of 76. He was born on June 21, 1946 in New Orleans, LA to Bertrand Legnon and Alberda Scherumann. He attended school at France in New Orleans, LA. Edward was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded numerous medals of honor including the Purple Heart. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Bertrand and Alberda Legnon, his in-laws, Eddie Beloso and Ethel Serigne Beloso, his brothers, Bertrand Legnon and Richard Legnon, his step-sister, Barbara Brown, his nieces, Shelly Long and Nicole Legnon, and his brothers-in-law, Eddie “Butch” Beloso Jr. Keith Beloso, and August Doane. Edward is survived by his wife, Sherry Beloso Legnon, his daughter, Dana Bonvillian (Marcelle), his son, Edward Legnon Jr., his grandchildren, Stefan and MacKenzie Bonvillian, Garrett Perdue and his great-grandchild, Michaund S. Blaise Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Doane, his sisters-in-law, Karen Beloso Cantrell (Steven) and Margaret S. Beloso (the late Keith), Wynona L. Beloso (the late Butch) Teresa Legnon ( the late Bertrand) Dusty Legnon (the late Richard) his brother-in-law, Eric Beloso (JoLynn), and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Passages Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Edward in his final days.
