Ralph Aquilla McGrath Jr.

Ralph McGrath, 88, of Independence, MO died Sat. March 11, 2023. Ralph was born Feb.10, 1935 to Rose and Ralph McGrath Sr. in Clarion, Ia. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, 1957~ 1959 with an honorable discharge. He returned to Iowa after his discharge to work in the grocery business in various towns around Iowa. He then started his sales career with Brown and Bigelow, which brought him to KC, Mo. Soon after he met Gertrude and married in 1983. Ralph was an avid fan of the Chiefs, Royals and his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Most important he was a dedicated husband, family man, and friend to all he met. Preceded in death by Gertrude McGrath(wife) and Cammie Borchers(daughter in law). Survived by his brother, Robert McGrath(Bob), Son, Craig McGrath, son in law, Mark Borchers, daughter in law, Lisa Slutter, and many grandkids and cousins. Gravesite service at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery. 3PM. April 12. Celebration of Life at Tim’s Pizza, Independence, Mo. 5-7 April 12.
