Maryallan S Roysdon

Maryallan Slattery Roysdon was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 9, 1924 and passed on January 24, 2023, living 98 years. Maryallan attended Border Star Grade School and Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri for two years and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. World War II came along and she married her fiancé, Richard Craig Loftus Roysdon before Rich headed off to the Army Air Force in the Pacific where he was flying B-25 missions. After the war, Maryallan and Rich set up housekeeping in Kansas City and became parents to three boys, Ryan, Barry and Allan. The family moved to Towson, Maryland in 1959 for Rich’s career as a manufacturer representative. Maryallan became a Real Estate Agent, rising to the position of vice-president. Later, they moved to Hunt Valley, Maryland and opened a gourmet/gift shop where they created 400 Christmas gifts each year and sold them in their shop. They loved family vacations to the beach at Ocean City, Maryland each summer. When they retired, Rich and Maryallan returned to wonderful Kansas City. They made many new friends and cherished long-time friends. Maryallan is survived by her two sons, Barry and Allan, four grandchildren, Ryan II, Emily, Barry Jr, and Andy, along with five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ayden, Jamison, Teddy and Jack. Services dates will follow to be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at Meyer Blvd. and Wornall Road. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Wayside Waifs, 2901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
