Jack Wesley Nelson, age 73, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Jack was born on July 19, 1948 in Lexington, Missouri to Paul Wesley and Evelyn (Mularkey) Nelson.

Jack was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy from May of 1966 to July of 1969 and then he transferred to the Naval Reserves. In his younger days you would find him out riding his motorcycles enjoying the breeze in his face. Jack also enjoyed fishing as a hobby. He spent 15 years as rigger in construction.

Jack leaves behind his wife, Dee Nelson, Lexington, MO, stepsons, Christopher Turner, Lexington, MO and Robert Turner of San Francisco, CA, daughter, Yvette Cates, Lawson, MO, sister, Della Hicks, Lexington, MO, brothers, Merle "Rocky" (Elaine) Nelson, Tracy, CA, James, Frank, and Mark Nelson of Paradise, CA along with his mother, Evelyn Gardner, Paradise, CA. He was part of a large close family and so there are also numerous nieces and nephews.

Dee wanted to share that he was an exceptional husband and father to his step children. He will be deeply missed not only by his loving family but his huge circle of friends.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on August 11, 2021 from 5-8 pm, at VFW Post 4052 , 3109 Franklin Ave, Lexington, MO.

Jack and I were good friend in High School We had a lot of good times That I will never forget But the one that stands out to me the most. San Francisco California Jack was station on one ship I was on another I was walking down Market St. in San Francisco California I look up and seen 3 sailors coming at me from up the street I thought I know that guy The 3 sailor got closer I could see Jack Nelson was one of the 3 What the chance of that happening I guess the world not as big as we think .
