Obituary of Dr. David Stanley Powers
Dr. David Stanley Powers, age 76, of Liberty, Missouri passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022. David, son of Victor and Edna, was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. His siblings (Victoria, Ray, Russ, & Noma) were his life-long friends whom he valued greatly. David graduated from Wyandotte High School, Kansas State University, and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer Chiropractic College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1965 - 1970. David was proud to be an American, and extremely proud of his military service and fellow Veterans. In 1980, David married Rhonda and they built a happy family with 4 daughters (Aubrey, Emily, Iris, and Chelsey). They lived in Kansas City, Missouri, where Dr. Powers had a successful Chiropractic Office and patients often referred to him as “a miracle worker.” He was exceptional at his craft and loved bringing health and healing to others. He loved country music, romantic Hallmark movies, escaping into the fictional Wild West through a classic western novel, traveling the open road, and his 1983 Porsche. After spending many years in a house of girls; he was thrilled to have 4 great son-in-laws that enjoyed searching out the best KC BBQ joints and cracking open a Miller Genuine Draft with him(Erick, Jacob, Eric, And Drew). David was well-loved by his eight grandchildren: Marissa, Addison, Breck, Caroline, Jude, Charlotte, Avery, and Anna. His life leaves a legacy and his absence leaves us looking to the horizon as our beloved Cowboy rides off into the sunset. A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at the American Legion Post 58 (2607 RT-92, Smithville, MO 64089) on Saturday, Nov. 26. Reception at 11am, Service at 11:30, Military Honors presented at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Legion Post, where David was a member. Their mission of patriotism and devotion to Service members and Veterans was something he fully supported. We are so thankful for their support during this time.
