Judith Ann Erner

Judy A. Erner, 75, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, with her daughters and son-in-law by her side. She was born Thursday, April 1, 1948, in Dubuque, IA, to the late William “Bill” and Dorothy (Nauman) Kisting. Judy became a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines right out of high school, traveling internationally until settling down in LaGrange, IL, and eventually moving to Carmel, IN, in 1980. She resided in Carmel until November of 2019 when she moved to Westfield, IN, so she could be two blocks away from her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She spent 23 years working for Hamilton County Tourism and loved meeting new people and talking about all the great things around the county. The family often joked that you couldn’t go anywhere in town without her running into someone she knew. She loved spending time with her family, life-long group of friends, arranging flowers, listening to music, baking, and believed in helping others anyway she could. Summer was her favorite time of the year as she loved the warmth and sun. You could find her with her friends at the Carmel Gazebo every Wednesday night for the free concert series. Left behind to cherish her memory are daughters Jennifer Erner and Jessica (Jeremy) Maners; grandchildren, Kylie and Joey Maners; her sisters and brother; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260, on Thursday, June 1st. Calling will be from 10:00 am – noon, with service to begin at noon.
