Joseph Allen Staples

Joseph Allen Staples, 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Franciscan Health Hospital. He was born Monday, March 21, 1955, the son of James E. Staples and Juanita P. (Chatmon) Staples. Allen married Kathy Haag on August 2, 1975, and they shared forty-seven years together. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for thirty-three years. Allen will be remembered for his laughter, his love of family, and golfing with good friends. Left behind to cherish his memory are: his devoted wife, Kathy; a son, Joseph (Kelly) Staples; two daughters, Lynde (Aaron) Smith and Carly (David) Flench; two brothers, Mitchell (Nancy) Staples and Tim (Nyla) Staples; a sister, Bonita (Michael) Rutherford; grandchildren, Benjamin Staples, Abigail Staples, Alex Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Dominic Smith, Taryn Smith, Carmyn Smith, Cole Howard, Andrea Howard, Nicholas Flench, and Will Flench. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Juanita Staples; his brother, Exel Staples; and his sister, Diana Miller. A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Venue on Park Avenue, 211 West Park Avenue, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.
