James R. O'Cull
August 18, 1941 – January 28, 2023

James "Ron" O’Cull of Carmel, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on January 28, 2023.
He was born on August 18, 1941, in Maysville, Kentucky, to Jim and Marian O’Cull. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1959 and joined the Army, serving three years in the 101st Airborne.
Ron and his father started Northwest Frame in Zionsville, Indiana in 1980. His sons, Kevin and Aaron, continue to operate the business today. He was a respected member of his church congregation, serving as a deacon for many years. Ron lived his love by using his many talents for others. He built his own home, and spent countless hours helping friends and family with their home projects. He especially delighted in being “Grampy” to his seven grandsons, indulging them in all their ideas for fun over the years. Ron played tennis competitively at Indianapolis Racquet Club and loved the comradery of his teammates.
Ron is survived by his bride of sixty years, Sherrill (Murphy) O’Cull; their children, Kevin (April) O’Cull of Carmel, Aaron (Lisa) O’Cull, of Carmel, and Shelley (Curt) Mickey, of Stamping Ground, Kentucky. They have seven grandsons; Alex (Beth), Cory (Britt) and Brady (Madelyn) O’Cull, Justin and Connor O’Cull, and Easton (Kaela) and Brett (Alycc) Mickey. They have two great grandsons, Jack O’Cull and Kevin O’Cull, and a third expected in the spring. He is also survived by two brothers, Mike (Jonnie) and Larry (Anna) O’Cull, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
