Florence Maria Freeman

Florence “Flo” Maria Freeman, 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Avon. She was born in Waverly, Iowa, on Thursday, August 4, 1932, the daughter of Herman J. Stumme and Mary (Rohrssen) Stumme. Flo married Robert “Bob” Denver Freeman on August 16, 1953, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2018. Flo was very active in her church. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church while growing up in Waverly, Iowa. She was also a long time member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsburg, Indiana. She also led a women’s Bible study group for many years. Flo was an avid card player and loved bowling on a number of leagues around the Indianapolis area. She and husband Bob enjoyed camping and traveled the states in their RV. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. It was the one time every year that she had many of her Iowa family and Indiana family together. Flo is survived by her sons, Carl (Michelle) Freeman and Steve (Karma) Freeman; brother, Fred Stumme; sister, Ruth Coe; grandchildren, Tiffany (Donnie) Craft, Eric (Natalie) Freeman, Ryan (Kristyana) Freeman, and Kristen Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Denver Craft, Trevor Freeman, and Maya Freeman. Flo was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert; her parents, Herman and Mary Stumme; and two brothers, Richard and Robert Stumme. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 12:00pm at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 701 East Tilden Drive, Brownsburg, Indiana 46112.
