Obituary of Marlin Leon Mabry
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marlin Leon Mabry, born to Leon Mabry and Juanita Sechrist of Dallas, Texas. Marlin Mabry, 78, passed away in Houston, Texas on January 24, 2023, from an unexpected illness caused by Covid pneumonia. Even though his lungs took him away from this world, Marlin is forever in our hearts, “Gone but never forgotten.” “Finally at peace." Marlin is survived by his daughters Kimberly and Stephanie Mabry; long-time partner Jennifer Mabry; brothers Jesse Mabry, Gary Mabry, Larry Mabry, and Marshall Butler; sister Sandra Kercho, numerous nephews and nieces, and Doug Lee of Winter Springs, Florida, his life-long friend of over 60 years. Marlin served in the Vietnam War from, 1966 – 1971 and was honorably discharged and awarded four medals: The National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14). Marlin will forever be remembered for his witty sense of humor, love of sports, charming demeanor, and that bright infectious smile. “There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone.” “We do not remember days, we remember moments.” The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.” Memorial services will be held at Houston National Cemetery.
