Obituary of Bonnie Louise Miner
On Thursday, March 16, 2023, Bonnie Louise Miner, a long time resident of Old Waverly, TX, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 87. Bonnie was born August 28, 1935 in Harvard, Illinois to Francis and Bessie (Carbrey) Wille. She graduated from Harvard Community High School in 1953. She furthered her education in Rockford, IL and obtained her paralegal degree. She worked at Admiral, Sears, Shoppers Service, Harvard Hospital and at the Woodstock Courthouse. She moved to Texas in 1983 where she completed her career at Continental Airlines. Inspired by Harvard’s Harmilda, and in memory of many Milk Day festivals, Bonnie had a much-celebrated collection of nearly 1000 ceramic cows displayed in her log-cabin home. She also enjoyed antiquing and was an avid crafter. Bonnie was a faithful member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Waverly, TX. She cultivated a community of loving dedication to Jesus Christ through her volunteer work with St. Vincent DePaul, Care/Share, hospice, Bible Study and various women’s organizations. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Thomas Miner, her three daughters; Jill, Julie and Jennifer, her step-children; Sandi and Gary, her nine grandchildren; Stacy, David, Anna, Jessica, Ian, Stephanie, Elly, Mandy and Lizzie and three great-grandchildren; Oliver, Luka and London. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond and two sisters, Jeanne and Mary. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Ramona and Minnie. A memorial service will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church,101 Elmore St., New Waverly, TX. Burial will take place in Chemung, Illinois. The dates to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to Bonnie’s volunteer organization, St. Vincent DePaul Charities food bank. Checks should note in honor of Bonnie Miner and sent to 101 Elmore Street, New Waverly, TX. She will be dearly missed by her many friends, her church and family.
