OBITUARY
Lawrence A Hourigan
August 23, 1940 – February 1, 2023

Lawrence "Larry" Aloysius Hourigan, age 82, of Naples, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. The son of John Jr. & Katharine (Mulcahy) Hourigan, he was born August 23, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Lawrence was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. While stationed in Val-d’Or, Quebec he met his beautiful bride, Gae. He dedicated years as a volunteer firefighter in Pennsylvania and held leadership roles during his service. Some of Larry’s favorite memories include his summers at Camp Susquehannock, time spent at St. Francis Preparatory School and English Horseback Riding. With an affinity for classic cars, Larry loved to attend car auctions. He also had a long career in the lighting industry as an independent manufacturer’s rep. in Buffalo, NY (Hourigan Agency), and a lighting showroom owner of Underwood Lighting in Ithaca , NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse of 52 years, Gaetane Hourigan; brothers, John III "Pete" Hourigan and Edward Hourigan; and son-in-law, Tim Eber. Larry is survived by his three daughters, Patricia (Dennis) Geier, Michelle (Tom) Nolan and Kim (Brian Lock) Eber; brothers, William "Billy" (Linda) Hourigan and David (Sharon) Hourigan; sister, Kate (Bob Hall) Hourigan; sister-in-law, Rosalie Hourigan; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wilkes Barre, PA where he will be laid to rest with Gae and his family members.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Lawrence to the Alzheimer’s Association.
