OBITUARY
Joseph Henry Redker
December 23, 1927 – May 22, 2023

Joseph H. Redker, was born on December 23, 1927 in Chicago, IL. At the age of 95, Joseph passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Meadow Woods Nursing & Rehab. Ctr. in Bloomingdale, MI. Joseph was also a longtime resident in Bangor, MI.
He grew up and lived in Chicago about 75% of his lifetime & moved to Bangor after his wife Pearl passed away. He loved to cook since he was young & worked as a cook at some of Chicago’s finest little Diner’s. He was a member of S.A.L. Post 160 in Bangor, and very proud of his affiliation with many of the Legionnaires & Auxiliary members. He loved animals, especially his cat Precious.
Joe was known as the Jokster at Meadow Woods, he would ride his electric scooter around every morning & share jokes with everyone there. He loved to play cards, play Bingo, & watch old western movies to pass the time. He was a true diehard Chicago Cubs fan & thankful he got to see them win the World Series. He also loved going out with friends for breakfast, Chinese food, shopping, and to the American Legion to celebrate his birthday.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur S. Redker and Emma (Cesal) Redker; wife, Pearl Redker; brother’s, Wallace Redker and Earl Redker; and his sister, Ruth Hofmann Andrews. Surviving are his children, Joseph H. (Beth) Redker Jr., Wallace (Debbie) Redker, Eddie Redker, Emma Redker; and niece, Renee (Robert) Hofmann Robbins. He was a proud Grandfather & Great Grandfather.
