Kenneth Leo Jacques
December 19, 1938 – January 29, 2023

In Loving Memory
Our father, Kenneth Leo Jacques, age 84, formerly of Fort Myers Beach, FL, went HOME, peacefully, to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday January 29, 2023.
After a short battle with kidney failure, he faced his final days, at his apartment, surrounded by family, with both the humor and faith he was known for. "Jesus loves you and so do I."
Ken was born December 19, 1938 at University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He was the son of Lawrence and Marion (Stans)Jacques. He was baptized at St. Huber Catholic Church in Chanhassen, MN. He graduated in the class of 1958, from Jordan High School. He then joined the army where he served as a medical corpsman for 2 years.
Ken was united in marriage to Marcy Schultz, of Shakopee, MN on September 24, 1960 at the American Lutheran Church in Shakopee. Ken built a house near his father's farm in Prior Lake, MN where they raised four children.
Ken was employed at Telelect Inc. in Bloomington, MN from 1959 -1978. In 1977, after attending a Christian leadership conference, he formally dedicated his life to do the Lord's work. He graduated from Concordia College, St.Paul, MN with a degree of Director of Evangelism in 1984.
Ken was very involved in his churches. He enjoyed recruiting and welcoming new members, assisting with Bible readings and communion, giving an occasional sermon, and leading Bible studies. He went on multiple mission trips to Kazakhstan and Africa to teach students how to become pastors. He served in churches in Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin during his career, before retiring in 2002 when he and Marcy moved in with their son, Kurt, in Buffalo Lake, MN.
Ken enjoyed being outdoors with nature. He loved working in his vegetable and raspberry gardens. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting with his brothers.
Ken and Marcy bought a home in Fort Myers Beach, FL in 2012 and became "snowbirds" during the winter months. After Marcy went to Heaven and was cured of pancreatic cancer in 2015, Ken decided to stay in Florida year-round. He enjoyed "his quiet routine", attending a men's Bible study group, "Brother's in Christ", going to Zion Church on Saturday evening, playing hearts on the computer, watching TV, and occasionally baking a pie.
In February of 2022 he decided to move to an apartment at New Perspective Senior Living in Prior Lake, MN to be closer to family.
Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcy and his parents, Lawrence and Marion.
He is survived by his 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; Glenn (Sandy) Jacques: Aaron, Justin, Amanda, Tim (Krista) Jacques: Bethany, Monica (Todd) Wasser, Miki Nahmensen [Layla, Charles, and Otto], Lyndsy (Chris) Hart [Carter and Quinn], Kacey (George) Damian [Rey and Charlotte],Travis (Courtney) Wasser [Tucker], and Kurt Jacques; his siblings and many nieces and nephews.
We would love for those who knew him to join us for a 'Celebration of Life' picnic which will be held on Sunday, July 9th, 2023 at 1:30pm, at the Huber Park, Fillmore St N, Shakopee, MN 55379.
