OBITUARY
Frederick William Gibb II
April 10, 1934 – January 27, 2023

Frederick William Gibb, II was born on April 10, 1934 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and died of cancer on January 27, 2023 in Ft. Myers, Florida.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick William and Delana Skeldon Gibb, his sister, Jean Phillips and his first wife, Mary Clare Gibb. Growing up in different locations as an army brat, his formative years were spent in Toledo, Ohio with many of his relatives on his mother’s side. His high school years were enjoyed at Gonzaga High School in the District of Columbia.
After graduating from George Washington University, he was employed at the U.S. Post Office where he worked on implementation of the newly established Zip Code system. From there he worked with computer systems in Detroit, Michigan, Rochester, New York, and Mountain View, California. He next moved to Richmond, Virginia where he worked for the State of Virginia. Later years found Fred in Palm Coast, Florida and finally at Shell Point in Ft. Myers, Florida. During his life he enjoyed boating, working on cars, and spending time with his family.
Fred is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kay Gibb; three children, Mary Delana McGinn (Sean), Frederick William Gibb III (Renée), and Catherine Elizabeth Baily (Chip); as well as 12 grandchildren Becket, Ian, Mary Clare Arden and Thaddeus McGinn; Connor and Logan Gibb; Christopher Merkel, Charlie Hacker, Jessica Hatfield, Chad, Josh and Ryan Baily. Fred is also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Kalista and Baily Hacker, Cora, Oakley and Eliza Hatfield, Sabrina McGinn, and Wyatt Baily. His family brought him much joy and happiness.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Friday, February 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Bonita Springs, Florida.
