Obituary of Alan Spencer Russell
Alan S. Russell, 81, of Palmetto, FL and Holden, MA passed away on May 15, 2023 with his wife at his side from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was born on May 9, 1942 to the late Norman and Helen (Hartwick) in Worcester, MA and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. He went on to start R&D Products in MA and Techmold Co. where his innovative techniques in developing urethane products modernized the envelope industry. In 1986 he decided it was much too cold and snowy in MA and moved to Bradenton, Florida where he continued his career by repairing industrial machinery. Alan leaves his beloved wife of 40 years, Hildy, along with daughters Anita (Jim), and Michelle (John), son A. Spencer II (Tatsiana) and five grandchildren, Nicholas (Teresa), Jessica (Luke), Hannah (Sorin), Alan III, and Max. He also leaves three great grandchildren, Daxton, Brooklyn and Clayton. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne. Alan loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and scuba diving. He and his wife traveled extensively through the Western US and Central America. He especially loved to go zip lining in Costa Rica and four wheel driving through the Rockies. He could repair anything and held a patent in a cell phone cable cutting technique. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at https://www.michaeljfox.org/ or Pets for Patriots at https://www.petsforpatriots.org/ .
