Mary Lou Sieruga, nee Sinkus, late of Country Club Hills, Illinois passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Franciscan Health of Olympia Fields. Born in Springfield, IL on May 8, 1927, Mothers Day, daughter of Walter and Sally (Sarah Lee) Sinkus. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Sieruga. Much loved big sister to Robert (Arlene ) Sinkus of Wolcott, IN. Cherished mother of Denise (the late Joseph) Flamini of Homewood, IL, Pamela (the late Michael) Chritser of Trumbull, CT, Walter (Kimberly Duggan) Sieruga of St Augustine, FL and Montreal, Que Canada and Eric (Diane) Sieruga of Country Club Hills, IL. Preceded in death by her children, Dennis T. Finley IV and Yvonne Sinkus and grandson Dennis T. (the late Christina) Finley V. Grandmother to Sherie Finley-Butterworth of Apache Jct, AZ, Tracy (Charles) Turner of Mineola, TX, Lori Weaver of Milford, CT, Shana (Nicholas) Butwell of Meriden, CT and Rachel Sieruga of Dyer, IN. Great-grandmother to Alexandria Pearce and Michael Turner of Mineola, TX, Olivia Finley of Smyrna, GA, Kaitlin and Aiden Weaver of Tuscon, AZ and Quintin Sieruga of Dyer, IN.

Mary Lou worked for the Illinois Central Railroad/Canadian National Railways for over thirty years at Markham Yards. She loved to garden, sing, dance, cook, paint and read. She could fix most things she put her mind to and taught her children to do the same. She had infinite patiences but could be quick to react in an emergency.

A memorial service will be held later due to Covid 19. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Chicago or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
