Daniel Patrick Pacer

Dan Pacer passed away on November 29, 2022 at the age of 45 after a 3 year courageous and relentless battle with cancer. He was born on August 14, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois. Dan grew up in Park Ridge where he attended school until he graduated from Maine South. Dan went on to attend the University of Illinois for Chemical Engineering before he transferred to Ripon College in Wisconsin to play baseball and study Business. He was hesitant on the transfer, but his love for baseball and motivation to play won in the end. At Ripon, Dan played for hall of fame coach Gordie Gillespie -the same coach his Dad played for in College. After graduating from Ripon, Dan moved back to Chicago where he worked as a Senior Web Developer for Stats Incorporated and most recently, Americaneagle.com. Dan was a lover of all sports. He enjoyed going to Cubs games, Bears games, golfing, and playing on summer softball teams with friends. He ran numerous half marathons over the years with friends and family, and completed the Chicago Marathon in 2017 for charity. He loved spending time with his loved ones, especially his nephew, Henry. Dan loved animals-he adopted a dalmatian and helped friends and family take care of their pets when they were on vacation or could no longer care for their pet. He was also passionate about science and technology from an early age. Dan enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes and going to new restaurants. Anyone that knew Dan, knew how kind and loyal he was. He was also known for his sense of humor and his smile. Dan is preceded in death by his mother, Lynn Pacer (Higgins). Dan is survived by his father, Tom Pacer; sister, Alison Walsh (Pacer); nephew, Henry Walsh; his grandmother, Lorraine Higgins and his dear cousins, aunts, and uncles. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and social workers at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Dan and his loved ones leading up to his final days. The family also would like to thank Dan’s relatives and friends who visited and provided love and support to Dan and the family at the hospital as well as after Dan passed. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dan’s life which will be held on February 4, 2023 from 4-8 pm at Moretti's Ristorante and Pizzeria, 6727 N. Olmsted Ave, Chicago, IL 60631.
