Kenneth Michael Bazzell

Kenneth Michael Bazzell (“Baz” to those who loved him), was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He has been reunited in heaven with his beautiful wife Susan, after 21 long years. Mike passed away peacefully in his home in Orange Beach, AL on January 23, 2023, one week shy of his 71st birthday. Mike was born in Montgomery, AL in 1952, but called Opelika home for more than 30 years, where he had three children, Brent, Meredith, and Lane, who he loved dearly. Mike enjoyed a successful career in sales with Alabama Office Supply, and retired to Orange Beach in 2018¬ a dream he shared with his late wife. He spent the last four and a half years walking the beach, collecting seashells, lamenting about Auburn Football, and hitting golf balls. He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Bazzell, and his parents, Wiley and Katherine Bazzell. He leaves behind his children, Brent Bazzell (Andrea), Meredith Fortney (Alex), and Lane Bazzell, his sisters, Brenda Lloyd and Anita Allman; two granddaughters, Daphne Bazzell & Lilly Bazzell, and a group of dear friends who were as close as brothers. A celebration of life is in the process of being planned for late March. More details to come.
