OBITUARY
Rose Marie (Paszkiewicz) Sorrentino
October 25, 1943 – January 29, 2023

We are sad to share the unexpected passing of our beloved mother on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Rose was the second of six children born to the late John and Christine Paszkiewicz. She attended Lakeshore Central High School near Buffalo, NY and later met her husband Frank Sorrentino who pre-deceased her in 2010.
You only needed to meet Rose once to realize you could never forget her. She was uniquely funny and had a way with words that could leave you both stunned in silence and hysterical with laughter. Her greatest joy came from doing things for others. Whether it was making them corn fritters, her famous Jello cake, or sewing them a tissue box cover with the logo of their favorite sports team, she enjoyed giving to others. Rose had an uncanny ability to make friends wherever she went, a hotel lobby, the hairdressers, or the casino. She was comfortably friendly and welcoming. Her sense of humor drew them in. She loved people and people loved her.
Rose loved reading, she would often read the final chapters first because she could not wait to see how a book ended. She loved sewing on plastic canvas and spent hundreds of hours creating pieces that she would generously give away to anyone who admired them. But more than anything, she loved her family and sharing their accomplishments with anyone who would listen.
We are so proud of Mom for moving twice late in life. She moved to Victor, NY to be near family in 2015 and most recently moved to Fort Mill, SC in August of 2021. She adjusted well and declared to many this new home was the happiest she had ever felt in her adult life. Rose battled addiction for many years and she, along with her children, are most proud of her determination to get and stay sober. It was a long, hard fought battle but she was the victor. Rose would have celebrated 13 years of sobriety this February. We are so very grateful her final years were spent healthy and happy.
Rose is survived by her three children, Jeanine (Ron) Skwartz of Phoenix, AZ; Frank (Kristin) Sorrentino of Gilbert, AZ; Christine (Dan) Heffernan of Tega Cay, SC. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: James Schnell; Isabella and Kailin Sorrentino; Sophie Heffernan; Emiliegh Skwartz; Lani (Joe) Delallo; Daniel (Kristy) Heffernan; Kerry (Matt) McMillan. She was the best doggie Grandma to Scarlet.
Her five siblings will certainly miss her, Aurelia Parks; Marcia (the late Rusty) Joseph; Marie (Jim) Perry; Mary Hoff; Mike (Linda) Paszkiewicz.
Everyone needs an Aunt Rose in their life and she had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews especially, Melissa (Darryl) Dirmyer.
We love you Rosebud, rest in peace.
